This is an independent, private, highly selective and mutuals exclusive roleplay account for ALHAITHAM from the Genshin Impact franchise. As such, I will only interact with those I follow and who follow me in return. If you do not like the character I'm writing, do not even breathe into my general direction and just go elsewhere.

portrayal

My portrayal of Alhaitham is CANON DIVERGENT AND HEAVILY INFLUENCED BY HEADCANONS. While the majority of his characterization is based on what we see in canon, I abide by the theory that he is a reincarnation of King Deshret, and this plays into how I write him. Do not assume fanon headcanons apply and do not force your own views of him onto my portrayal. I should also mention that Character Story 5 is not canon for how I write Alhaitham and has thus been completely redacted. Please read through his dossier before interacting, as too many offenses will result in a softblock. If anything is not clear, I'll be more than happy to elaborate on details.

formatting

I tend to write in third person, present simple tense. I find that this makes you feel more " in the moment " of a roleplay scenario. There may be variations to this, but in general, you will predominantly find me writing this way. I also use double space, icons and bold / italic to make certain parts of my writing stand out or add more flavor to the response. You do not need to match me. Whether you also use icons or formatting is entirely up to yourself.

I'M AN EXTREMELY SLOW WRITER. I cannot stress it enough. If you are looking for someone who responds in frequent intervals, then this blog will not appeal to you. I have many other hobbies besides writing, and though writing is something I enjoy, it won't always be a priority. Therefore, a response can take me anywhere from just a few days to weeks. In addition, I have BPD with likely ADHD, which means I can be scatterbrained or forgetful in general. While there are exceptions ( such as grooming, racism, etc. ) most callouts could easily be solved by talking like adults. I will not engage with them in any way. If you have a tendency to reblog callouts, please kindly tag them! I come here to escape reality and have fun for a little while, not to be exposed to even more stressors. KING DESHRET, who was also known as the Scarlet King, Lord of Sands and Al-Ahmar was one of the three God Kings which ruled Sumeru and the master of the one thousand and one Jinn. He built his domain in the desert and created a civilization filled with ANCIENT TECHNOLOGY and mysterious powers, leading to a utopia that prospered for thousand of years under his reign.

He was upheld by his people as a GOD OF THE SUN and thus associated with the horizons of east and west, the setting and the rise of day, the eternal cycle of death and rebirth. As such, his true name was Horakhty of the Two Horizons, albeit few remember this name, and he is more reknown by other names.

King Deshret's true origins remain a mystery, but it is said that he descended from the heavens a manifested spirit of light, hailing back to the very concept of the soul — A DIVINE AKH come forth into this mortal world. By enabling his self to assume any form he desired, he became one of the three deities which ruled Sumeru, yet he never lost his ties to the heavenly sun.

He was a SON OF THE SKY born from the heavens, presenting himself with symbols of eyes, falcons, a golden sun, the morning star and adornments made with gold and scarlet. Though a deity from birth, he regularly took on the shape of a man to walk among his subjects, a splendid figure with pale, long hair and striking eyes. These features would eventually become immortalized on murals and statues made in worship, shaping the face of the desert for thousands of years to come.

THE KING'S TRUE FORM resembled a white falcon of considerable size, easily told apart from a distance by the colorful wingtips that resembled the patterns on his attire. He often wore gilded adornments in his plumage and took pride in the craftsmanship of his beloved people. However, this form was rarely used and many saw the falcon king only once in their lifetime.

In the beginning, Deshret ruled over the PROMISED LAND OF VALIVIJA, an oasis paradise among gilded sands. He shared his reign with the two other god kings of Sumeru.

Temples and monuments dedicated to him represent the rays of light extending from the sun, including solar temples. They were open to sunlight and did not feature a central statue, as he is represented by the sunlight itself.
The city from which he ruled was home to many falcons, most of them mechanical in nature, who served as his watchful eyes. They were seen as a symbol of protection and prosperity, and were not tools for control.

The Scarlet King was a MASTER OF ALL ELEMENTS, his abilities build upon the seven pillars which created the natural order. As one born from the heavens, Deshret drew his powers directly from the SOL CAELI constellation, bending the omni-element of light to his will. He reigned over his people akin a living sun, capable of nurturing life as much as he was able to destroy it.

AFTER THE SCARLET KING'S SELF-SACRIFICE, he became one with the sun again ( thus turning him into Ra-Horakhty, and once more combining the two horizons in one being. ) This eventually led to his rebirth in the eastern skies, namely the rainforests of Sumeru, where Alhaitham first gained consciousness a few centuries after his death. Due to Deshret's knowledge being consumed by Apep, he lost all his memories.

Created as a DIVINE VESSEL,Tldr until I write this out: King Deshret's sacrifice was similar to Guoba where he lost the majority of his powers and memory, even more so because Apep swallowed him afterwards. The fragment embedded in Alhaitham's chest retains his essence and grants some knowledge of what he is / his origins, but much of the ancient history was lost. This plays into Alhaitham frequently investigating ruins and ancients texts, as some of this serves the purpose of piecing his own history back together. He is a reincarnation, but not exactly as Deshret was.

He shares the same eyes as King Deshret, a direct reflection of the illustrations found on ancient murals, monuments and even the novels that retell the tales of the Lord of Sands. Though most of his appearance has changed, THE EYES ALWAYS STAY THE SAME. It is said that the king's eyes held both sun and moon, the endless cycle a symbol of life and resurrection, and thus being revered for its heavenly protective powers.

AFTER KING DESHRET'S SACRIFICE, naught of him but a singular gemstone remained. This precious relic was carefully preserved by Rukkhadevata and infused with traces of Dendro energy, permanently changing its hue to a vibrant green. It holds the last remnants of the god king's essence, and similar to the symbolism it once held for the Scarlet King during his reign, it has become a unique feature on Alhaitham's body as well.
